I grew up going to Mass with my mom on Sundays.
It was fine. Nice, even. But not life-changing.
So like most people, I filled the hole in my heart with whatever was nearby: distractions, entertainment, relationships, ambition.
Each one promised something. None of them delivered. Instead, they left me worse off.
I wasn't alone. Between 1990 and 2017, new cases of depression worldwide increased by 50%, with the sharpest rises in the wealthiest countries. The United States reported lower happiness scores in 2018 than in 2008. So did Canada, France, Japan, Denmark.
More money. More stuff. Less happy. The data is unambiguous.
Then I met Jesus, really met him. He had always been there. I just didn't have eyes to see him. And things changed. Not because my circumstances were different, but because I found the one who could deliver on what everything else only promised: real, deep, lasting happiness.
That encounter is why, over a decade later, we built Truthly. And it's why today I'm sharing something I'm genuinely proud of.
It's called Fully Alive, a six-episode course on what you were made for, and how to get there. It starts with the honest diagnosis of why nothing in modern life satisfies us. And it ends somewhere I think will surprise you.
The course is in the Truthly app now. Tap the grid in the top-right corner, then tap "Courses" to find it.
